Crivitz and Surrounding Areas Real Estate

If you are looking at Crivitz and Surrounding Areas neighborhoods, you are looking at a part of Wisconsin where the lakes, the river and the woods set the pace. Crivitz is a village in Marinette County on the Peshtigo River, and it calls itself the Gateway to the North. The towns around it, from Stephenson and Silver Cliff to Athelstane, Pound and Wausaukee, are where most of the cabins, lake homes and acreage in this part of the Northwoods are.

People come here for a lifestyle more than a house. Morning coffee over the water. Acreage out the back door. Trails for the afternoon. A cabin the whole family can gather at. Some buy a weekend place. Others are relocating, moving closer to family, or looking for a quieter life with more room to breathe.

That mix is why no two properties here are alike, and why a template does not work. A lake home, a hunting camp and a wooded lot are three different purchases and three different sales. • Crivitz. The village at the center of it all, on the Peshtigo River and about four miles from Lake Noquebay, the largest lake in Marinette County. Main Avenue is the downtown, and Twin Bridge Park sits on High Falls Flowage.
• Town of Stephenson. Home to Big Newton Lake and Little Newton Lake.
• Pound and Wausaukee. Two villages in Marinette County. White Potato Lake, which is in Oconto County, is close to Pound, and Sandstone Flowage is near both Pound and Crivitz.
• Silver Cliff, Athelstane, Town of Lake, Pembine and Amberg. Towns across Marinette County, and all part of my everyday work.
• Marinette. The city of Marinette, in Marinette County.
• Mountain and Lakewood. Towns in Oconto County that I also work in.

The places people ask me about most are the ones that make this area what it is. Lake Noquebay and its trails for hiking and biking. The Peshtigo River, High Falls Flowage and Caldron Falls Flowage. Johnson Falls Flowage and Sandstone Flowage. Big Newton Lake and Thunder Lake. Governor Earl Peshtigo River State Forest and Governor Thompson State Park to the northwest. Thunder Mountain Overlook Park, with its hiking and mountain bike trails.

A place that is perfect in July can be a different place in January, so I encourage buyers to ask about winter early: who plows the road, how the place is heated, and how the plumbing is protected when nobody is there.
